Characteristic village

Colijnsplaat is located on the largest national park in the Netherlands: the Oosterschelde. This provides beautiful views! A walk or bike ride outside the dike along this nature reserve is definitely a good idea. Or a boat trip on the Oosterschelde, with Colijnsplaat harbor as your base.

Colijnsplaat has a protected village view. This means that the village has a special, cultural-historical character! You will find historical sights, such as the monument “Houen jongens”. This recalls a miracle that allowed Colijnsplaat to be spared during the 1953 flood disaster. Also worth seeing are the statue of Johannis de Rijke, the Nehalennia temple and the two mills in the village.

A characteristic feature of Colijnsplaat is the Voorstraat. This is adorned by beautiful old lime trees, monumental buildings and cozy terraces.
